What an amazing weekend but I am also glad that it is over.
A Taste of the Huon was held over the long weekend and was an extremely busy one for me. There were over 90 stalls and all were showcasing the fine produce that we have in the Huon Valley. I made Sweet Yoghurt Cups made up of my sweet dukkah, Mountain River Yoghurt, local strawberries dipped in chocolate and local blueberries. This was a hit with alot of people as it was a very warm day. The day could not have gone better without the help of my first employee. Jasmine was amazing and is 14 years old but very patient and learnt very quickly, I was very proud of her and I know that she had fun. Thank you Jasmine..... I look forward to doing the same event Last year I was too busy to put my Dukkahs into the Fine Food Awards around Australia but this year I was determined not to miss out.
I entered 5 flavours into the Melbourne Fine Food Awards and just found out that I won: 1 Silver Medal for Garlic Dukkah 1 Silver Medal for Zatar I am extremely happy as I have been trying to win a medal for the Zatar for a long time and finally persistance has paid off. I not have a tally of 7 silver medals and 5 bronze. Time for a celebration I think...... |
